Congressmen Brian Baird and Rick Larsen  introduced two meth mouth bills in Congress on Thursday, July 26, 2007.  As of 11/2007, both bills are in committees in the House and the Senate.

The Meth Mouth Prevention and Community Recovery Act will provide for a school-based prevention program that will educate students about the oral health risks associated with meth use. And, the Correctional Costs and Reentry Support Act will create an infrastructure assistance program that will sustain correctional dental programs. Both bills capture the prevention, treatment, and correctional solutions to this growing problem.

Dr. Collins launched MethMouth.net in July, 2007 to raise awareness about the methamphetamine crisis from the oral health perspective.  CAESY, a Patterson company, provided generous web hosting and design assistance.
